Kolkata: IPL 2010: With the season 3 of IPL progressing in a great way who says it is only the teams or its players that will make big bucks alongside top brands.

Even our government is expected to earn big bucks through way of taxes this year when the third season of IPL as around.

Taxes will be levied by way of direct taxes on all those earning big bucks during the IPL be it franchisees, players or marketing agencies.

In addition, service taxes are also expected to fetch the government close to a billion INR.

Mumbai: IPL 3 Tickets: ‘Netas’ find IPL as perfect ground for political pitch: We have seen all sorts of attempts by ‘netas’ to attract more votes.

But wannabe BBMP corporators in Jayanagar and JP Nagar are trying something very new to woo voters.

They gave away free IPL tickets to young voters for the RCB-Kings XI Punjab tie at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.

These tickets were worth Rs 220 each. Even Rs 550 worth tickets were given away. Seems like they found IPL as the perfect ground for making their political pitch.

Apart from free IPL tickets, other give aways were packed meat and chicken early on Wednesday for ‘Hosa Thadaku’ festival.
